Green Umbrella Organisation is dedicated to taking action against deforestation and climate change through native forest restoration. Our mission is to increase awareness of global environmental issues and advocate for better environmental practices.
We are a Registered Charitable Organization in India (Regd no. F/22896/THANE) established in 2010, with a primary focus on restoring native forests. Our main objective is to advocate for native tree plantation, and we organize various public activities to raise awareness about the significance of preserving local and native tree species. Our reforestation projects are aimed at promoting biodiversity and sequestering atmospheric CO2.

We Take Action. To Make Better Changes
We are proud to have uprooted over 12,000 saplings of various trees such as peepal and banyan from pipes, drainage systems, and walls on more than 450 buildings in Mumbai and Thane, and have successfully replanted them in suitable places.

Additionally, we have planted 3,500 saplings of eight types of ficus species on both sides of the road along the nine-kilometer stretch from Mulund to Ghatkopar on the Eastern Expressway, a major highway in Mumbai. Through this project, we are contributing to reducing pollution and fostering biodiversity, with a single tree giving off 110 kg of oxygen and absorbing 130 kg of carbon dioxide gas per year. In total, this plantation has reduced 455,000 kg of carbon dioxide gas and produced 385,000 kg of oxygen, providing clean air to Mumbaikars while traveling.
